Porec and surrounding area is known as the tourism capital Istria and possibly even the whole of Croatia, this being, there are 26 hotels and for every 15 residents there is a restaurant. More than 50,000 tourists decend on Porec every summer and growing. Mostly due to the fact it is an ideal family holiday location.
Plenty of activities for the children; watersports, tennis, horse-riding, go-cart racing and many good beaches. In the evening the harbour front is alive with entertainment or if you like a stroll after dinner the shops in the cosmopolitan old town stay open until late.
Take a boat over to the Island of St Nikola, it's a short 10 minute ride on the boat really pleasant trip where you can stroll through the wooded paths and drop down to the sea to on the far side to find a romantic bathing spot all to yourselves!
Porec is also home to an Impressive UNESCO World Heritage monument; the Euphrasius Basillica, an early Christian cathedral as old as 2000 years. Climb to the top of the tower for a magnificent view across the town and waters!
